SwissOptic AG is founded as a subsidiary of Leica Geosystems AG for the optics production.
2000
Entry into the semiconductor industry with optics for applications in wafer- and mask inspection.
2006
Expansion to China, founding of the subsidiary in Wuhan, SwissOptic (Wuhan) Co., Ltd.

Start of automated assembly in lens production, first laser optics for refractive laser eye surgery (LASIK) from the Rhine Valley.
2009
Development and production of the optics for a multispectral camera system for aerial photography.
2013
SwissOptic serves further applications in laser eye surgery with optical components and assemblies, first customers for active in diagnostics in ophthalmology are served with optomechanical assemblies.

Satellites with components from SwissOptic orbit the earth.

SwissOptic supplies components and integration services for a non-contact 3D surface measurement system for the automotive industry.

The life science business picks up speed with a project in flow cytometry. Further applications in research and diagnostics are in the pipeline.。

ASML acquires the Berliner Glas Group and with it SwissOptic AG.

The roots of SwissOptic: 100 years of optics production in the Rhine Valley St.Gallen. SwissOptic AG is now a company of the Jenoptik Group.
